News: Ski season started too early in Spain
3 Nov 2018

The 2018/2019 ski season has started one month early in several places in Spain.

In the weekend of 3 and 4 November, the ski resorts of Valgrande-Pajares (Asturias) and Punto de Nieve Santa Inés (Soria) will open while the ski stations Masella (Gerona), Alto Campoo (Santander) and Lles de Cerdanya (Lerida) November put the ski lifts into operation.

During the last weeks and especially days, enough snow has fallen at many ski stations in the north of the country to cover the ski slopes with a layer of snow thick enough for skiing. In addition, the weather conditions were also optimal enough to enable the ski guns.

The first ski station that opened its doors was Masella (Gerona) where on November 1 more than 3,000 skiers enjoyed the fresh snow. This weekend the ski stations Valgrande-Pajares (Asturias) and Punto de Nieve Santa Inés (Soria) are added.

Alto Campoo is just like Masella opened on November 1 for the skiers but only a small part at more than 1,650 meters altitude that was free to visit. Also the ski station Lles de Cerdanya (Lerida) has been open for 20 kilometers of ski slopes but this weekend there will be more slopes and more ski lifts open.

Most ski stations in Spain normally open towards the end of November or the beginning of December, allowing you to go on ski holidays in many places in Spain during public holidays on 6 and 8 December.
