From 30 March 2020, the Dutch airline Transavia will operate flights between Alicante-Elche airport and Brussels-Airport and flights from Ibiza to Brussels-Airport. The flights are currently only planned for the summer months and there will be two planes in Brussels, but there will be no airbase because there will be flown with Dutch personnel moving to Brussels.

It was apparently already known that Transavia would include Brussels Airport as an arrival and departure point on international routes. In total, the low-cost airline has announced nine routes for the summer program with a total of 28 flights per week.

Alicante-Elche and Ibiza are two of the nine destinations that can be reached from Brussels and of course the other way around. There will be five weekly connections between Brussels and Alicante while four weekly flights will come between Brussels and Ibiza with prices from 35 euros.

Of the nine destinations, two go to Alicante-Elche and Ibiza in Spain, while the rest go to Verona in Italy, Corfu, Heraklion and Thessaloniki in Greece, Faro in Portugal, Tel Aviv in Israel and Agadir in Morocco.

Transavia currently flies to three destinations in the Netherlands, namely Amsterdam-Schiphol, Rotterdam-The Hague and Eindhoven. Brussels Airport is also being added while there is also a flight to Paris-Orly.
