News: New Murcia airport will be connected to Belgium, Ireland and Great Britain
The new airport of Murcia Aeropuerto Internacional de la Región de Murcia will at least be connected with Belgium, Ireland and Great Britain from 2019 onwards.
In principle, the routes have to start from 15 January next year, according to the regional government in Murcia.
As it now looks, from the moment the airport opens on January 15, 2019, there will be flight connections between Corvera airport (Murcia) operated by Ryanair, easyJet and TUIfly. There is a chance that other airlines will join in the coming months, but that is not certain yet.
Ryanair is the airline that will carry out most routes such as London-Stansted, London-Luton, Manchester, East Midlands, Birmingham, Leeds-Bradford and Dublin.
EasyJet will connect the airport of Murcia with London-Gatwick, London-Southend and Bristol.
TUIfly will fly between Murcia and Brussels-Charleroi and Antwerp.
In addition to the aforementioned companies, other airlines have shown interest in flights to and from Murcia's new airport.
Vueling (to Barcelona), Norwegian (Scandinavian countries), Aerlingus (Ireland), Volotea (to Asturias) and Jet2 (destinations still unknown) also want to fly routes from the second half of 2019.
