News: Spain in 26th place as a safe world
Spain is in 26th place on the list of safe world countries this year.
This list is determined annually by the North American company Gallup, which reviews 142 countries and assesses them with regard to safety. Safety is an important part for many international travelers when choosing a holiday destination.
At the top of the list of the 142 countries surveyed, Singapore has a score of 97 (out of 100). The least safe country at the moment is Venezuela with 44 points, the 2018 Global Law and Order Report from Gallup.
More than 148,000 residents from 142 different countries aged 15 and older were asked about their confidence in local police work, feelings of safety when they are walking on their own and personal experiences with crime in the last 12 months.
The majority of the participants have confidence in the local police (69%) and feel safe when they walk in the street (68%). 13% of the participants admits that there has been a burglary in the last 12 months and 5% say they have been robbed.
