Sun, sea and the beach on the Costa Blanca!
Costa Blanca literally means white coast. And that is exactly what you will find on the coast of the Spanish region: white beaches! We have listed a number of special places for you in our region within a maximum of two hours by car from the Nelemans office! As if it is not enough yet ;-)
Benidorm
Benidorm! That sounds very dull and old-fashioned, but it is certainly not. We will tell you more about this in a future news item.
The Manhattan of the Costas, the place for seniors to hibernate. The high skyscrapers and the winter crowd have given Benidorm several nicknames. But look further and you will see two of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca, or perhaps all of Spain ...
The 4 km long Playa Levante and Playa Poniente have many advantages. That's how they - mothers and fathers pay attention! - about a Blue Flag, making it safe for children to play. Thanks to the sheltered mountains around Benidorm, you will not be bothered by any. cold wind. Active people can also go crazy; sailing, jet skiing and paragliding are only a small part of the (water) sports offered.
Sunbathe among the locals and enjoy the view in Alicante to the maximum.
Do you not like to be among the 'foreigners', but do you like to mix with the locals on your holiday? Combine your well-deserved free time on the Costa Blanca with a visit to or stay in the city of Alicante. Just outside the Spanish city you will find San Juan de Alicante.
The golden white sandy beach is almost 3 km long and runs from the fishing village of El Campello to the headland Cabo de las Huertas. Special are the natural pools between the rocks, where, according to the lenient, the Moore queen used to bathe ...
Platja de La Granadella has won several awards
It is an hour's drive from Benidorm, but how beautiful it is; Platja de La Granadella! It is certainly idyllic. Thanks to its location in a small horseshoe-shaped bay and the presence of clear blue water (bring your snorkel set!), Pine trees and jagged rocks.
It is not surprising that this beach has been voted the best beach in Spain several times. Despite the fact that you cannot count on sand here. It is a gravel beach but really beautiful!
Eat fish and sunbathe in Santa Pola
South of the city of Alicante you will find Santa Pola, a traditional fishing village. Fish still plays an important role here. This is reflected in the menus of the small restaurants. Caldero is the local specialty, a stew of fish and rice.
But fish is not the only reason to travel to this part of the Costa Blanca. Santa Pola is home to two gems of beaches, Lisa and Tamarit. Both beaches are close to the lively harbor and have fine sand and blue water. You can sunbathe as the best, but water sports such as wind and kite surfing are also possible. And thanks to the shallow waters, it is a fine sandy beach for families.
Another beautiful beach near Santa Pola is Platja del Carabassi, which is surrounded by salt pans and wetlands. There are some beach bars and the southern part is reserved for naturists. The northern part of the gently sloping beach is particularly popular with families.
Playa de la Mata
On Playa de la Mata you will find almost as much space as on all the other beaches of Torrevieja combined. The fine sandy beach winds about 3 km along the coast and has much to offer at this distance. There is an attractive boulevard with various cafes and restaurants, where there is also something to do in the evening in high season. If you're more interested in water sports, here's a good place to try your hand at classic surfing. The surf school on the south side of the beach offers various courses.
The most beautiful beach in Calpe
As soon as you arrive in Calpe, the Ifach rock will impress! This 332 m high rock rises high above the sea and can be seen from practically every point in the coastal resort. E.g. from one of the 14 beaches and coves that Calpe houses.
Nelemans' favorite beach in Calpe is also the busiest right away, but don't let this put you off. From Arena-Bol you have a great view of the Ifach rock, you can count on fine golden sand and you can take a dip in the harbor. In a few minutes walk you are also at the edge of a salt lake to spot flamingos. Very very special!
On which beach on the Costa Blanca will you soon put your beach towel down after the viewings?
