News: ATTENTION suitcase policy Ryanair will be changed on 1 November
As of Thursday, November 1, the suitcase policy will change for the second time this year at Ryanair.
From that date, the Irish low-cost airline will charge a fee to passengers who have not booked a priority and therefore have to hand baggage carry cases before entering the aircraft. Only a bag that the passenger must keep under the front seat will then still be free.
Since January this year only priority passengers are allowed to bring two pieces of hand luggage into the cabin. In other words, if you want to take a small suitcase or backpack with a maximum weight of 10 kg and a handbag, you can only do so if you pay for it.
The remaining passengers are still allowed to carry two pieces of luggage but only the handbag is allowed to enter the cabin and the suitcases are placed on a cart for boarding and then enter the trunk.
No more free
The latter option has always been free so far but from Thursday 1 November this will change. Anyone who wants to bring his suitcase of 10 kilos or more from that date into the cabin has to pay extra between 6 and 8 euros. If you have the suitcase checked in at the check-in desk, it costs between 8 and 10 euros.
Suitcase sizes
The sizes of the suitcases and handbags will also change. The handbag may now be 35x20x20 cm in size but that will be 40x20x25 cm from November 1st. The trolley sizes change to 42x20x30 cm from November 1.
With priority
Two pieces of luggage to take the cabin in can only with priority what 6 euros if you book this when buying the ticket or 8 euros if you book this extra afterwards.
No priority
If you do not book a priority then you can only bring a handbag for free into the cabin and you have to pay for a suitcase of 10 kilos 8 euros if you do this when buying the ticket or 10 euros if you book this extra afterwards. . The suitcase goes via the check-in desk to the trunk of the plane (so no more cart at the plane).
